Classy Coastal Makeover in Surfers Paradise

Refinishing Kitchen Cabinet Doors

This beachside apartment in Surfers Paradise was the perfect candidate for a classy coastal style makeover. In the kitchen, the outdated melamine doors and fixed panels were refaced in Laminex ‘Elegant Oak’ and satin white 2pac. Door storage under the cooktop was converted into a practical set of pot drawers. A new stone benchtop with waterfall ends in a stunning marble pattern and matching splashback was added, along with a new cooktop and rangehood.  The owner sourced a blown glass light fitting to replace the utilitarian kitchen spotlights and add a serene finishing touch.

In the bathroom, the bath was removed and converted into a glorious monsoon shower with frameless shower screen.  New tiles were added throughout including a distinctive herringbone feature tile on two walls.  The aging vanity was removed, along with the panelled mirror surrounds.  A new stone-topped custom floating vanity with fluted-front drawers was created and topped with an eye-catching assymetrical ‘pebble’ mirror.

The result is a relaxed yet timelessly beautiful apartment that sets the scene for unforgettable memories made holidaying by the beach.
